From a moviegoer’s perspective, the 2026 horror year offers beat and breadth. There is franchise muscle where it helps, distinct vision where it matters, and a calendar that shows studios read audience appetite for scares. The awards and festival pipeline into 2027 will come into focus once the fall festivals lock, and it would not be surprising to see at least one late-breaking specialty acquisition join the party. For now, the job is simple, edit tight trailers, preserve the surprise, and let the scares sell the seats.
